New OFF-ROAD RIDE OPTION
|
![]() |
The committee are proud to announce a new OFF ROAD RIDE option for 2018. The road-ride option will still be available.
The new course starting from Portland Football Netball Cricket Club at Hanlon Park is approximately 3km longer than the road ride on Bridgewater Road and will be roughly made up of:
- 60% dirt roads
- 20% single track
- 10% grass paddock
- 10% bitumen
- 100% fun and adventure
The Off-Road Ride option is suitable for mountain bikes or cyclo-cross bikes. You must be at least 14 years of age for the off-road option.
Off road riders will depart 9am, 30 minutes prior to road riders so be there at the start line to register early.
We are very lucky and fortunate to have the support of local land owners who support Rotary Club of Potland and Beats Cycle For Hope. This is a ride and route that is not accessible any other time of the year.
Don't miss this opportunity. Get your off-road push bike ready. Make sure you bring water, sunscreen and a few basic repairs.
Check out our facebook page for more information.
Beats Cycle For Hope 2018

Hi
The next Beats Cycle For Hope event is scheduled for Sunday 18th March 2018.
Keep the date free.
Thank You

On Sunday, the community turned out to support an event that began as a personal journey for a local Portland father and community stalwart, Paul Beattie. The Rotary Club of Portland’s Beats Cycle For Hope has now become a beloved annual event supported by hundreds of people.
Many riders young and old enjoyed the beautiful warm autumn morning to ride to Bridgewater Bay for our 2017 effort.
The event was, once again, a great success, and we hope all those who participated enjoyed it as much as we did.
The Rotary Club of Portland would like to thank the Portland community for their generous contributions to the “Beats Cycle for Hope” event.
Over $10,000 was raised which will be directed to programs that support local cancer patients and their families.
Support was provided by nearly 200 riders and their donations; the many sponsors, both business and private, who gifted items large and small for the Charity Auction and those who purchased the auction items.
We now begin the planning for the 2018 event and hope everyone will join us again.
THANK YOU
